2D Vision

A FAST AND AUTONOMOUS MONITORING SOLUTION

2D vision is the analysis of an image taken by a camera to characterize or quantify an element. A multitude of tools are available today, from blob detection (uniform color shape) to complex geometry detection, including length, angle and diameter measurement tools.

QUALITY CONTROL

Vision quality control is a versatile inspection method because the same tool can inspect a multitude of elements quickly and without contact.

This operation is also the most widespread of 2D vision capabilities. A camera of this type can carry out the following controls:

  • Presence / absence
  • Dimensioning
  • Color

ROBOT GUIDANCE

In many applications, a camera can be used to guide a robot or a manufacturing process.

In the case of a robot, one of the main applications is the detection of objects with feedback regarding their position and orientation. This allows the robot to pick up these objects and feed them to the next process. We call this flexible retrieval.

You can discover our un-picking solutions here.

Another use for unpicking is to guide the robot to perform a process on products whose variability cannot be compensated by mechanical means. This is called vision registration. More information here.
