SEMO has developed recognized expertise in producing reliable, high-performance Tube Feeders that deliver components one by one to pick-and-place electronic assembly machines.
The STF takes this even further. It allows the integration of new process functions that previously had to be carried out off-line.
Feeders integrating component processing
As fully standalone, custom equipment, SEMO’s STF feeders are designed to allow the integration of multi-process tooling for handling various types of components (e.g., TO-220 packages).
The tooling integrated into the feeder can perform up to three operations. These operations may include cutting leads or pins, shaping, or bending.

SEMO, which has long established itself in the precision tooling market, has now leveraged its expertise and know-how to integrate tools directly into its feeders. As a result, the Tube Feeders can “process” standard components, eliminating the need for off-line processing machines and the handling of products between machines. Moreover, component traceability is ensured by both the feeder and the pick-and-place machine.
Tube Feeders with greater added value
SEMO adapts its Tube Feeders not only to deliver components but also to cut or shape them. For example, our Tube Feeders can cut, bend, and/or form standard relay pins according to a customer’s specific requirements, then supply the placement machine with the modified relays.
The ability of our Tube Feeders to simultaneously perform configurable-length cutting, shaping, and component feeding eliminates the need for prior component preparation or reconditioning, providing clear advantages in terms of space efficiency, productivity, and return on investment.
