STF Feeders

Over the year, SEMO has delivered several hundreds of tube feeders which feed sticked-packaged components to placement machines (so-called pick-and-place machines). STF feeders go one step further as they can add value to the component itself. It includes process functions which are sometimes performed off-line.

FEEDERS THAT ADD VALUE TO COMPONENTS

Autonomous pieces of equipment, SEMO STF feeders are engineered to enable the integration of multi-process tooling. The tooling enables ajustment of components (ie TO 220 component) before feeding them.

The tooling can perform up to three operations. These operations can be pin trimming, cutting to length, forming or bending. The STF maintains its very narrow profile (80mm wide only).

From the beginning, SEMO has specialised in the engineering and manufacturing of small and precision mechanical tooling. The company decided to make use of its long history to upgrade its traditional tube feeders with process functions. The STF feeders are therefore a complete solution to feed standard components, add value to them and feed them. It is no longer necessary  to acquire off-line machines nor to transfer components from machine to machine. Productivity is therefore increased ; the traceability is fully handled by the pick-and-place machine

TUBE FEEDERS WITH MORE ADDED-VALUE

SEMO adapts its Tube Feeders to not only distribute components but also to cut or shape them. Thus our Tube Feeders can, for example, cut out, bend or shape the pins of standard relays according to the clients specific needs. Those modified can then be fed by the same feeder to the pick-and-place machine.

Our Tube Feeder's ability to simultaneously manage cutting configurable lengths in addition to the shaping and supply of components, avoids preliminary preparation and repackaging of components. This offers obvious advantages in terms of use of space, productivity and return on investment.
